Information on how to commission your portrait
Thank you for taking an interest in my portraiture, it is one of the most enjoyable means of creating for me. I am enamored with the stories my clients have shared with me when we prepare for a commission. There is so much love that is conveyed during these exchanges, and I do my best to express that love in the portrait, whether a loved one or pet.
I prefer to do portraits from photographs, due to time and space limitations, it is more practical to do so. Please be prepared to provide several good quality photographs (digital copies are preferred) as references. I cannot accept any cell phone pictures or pictures of low grade and quality. I must be able to see the facial features clearly. Also, any portraits from professional studios are not usable for the main pose due to copyright infringement. They can be used as additional reference, but cannot be copied.
The more subjects in the drawing, the larger the size. This allows identifiable features to be accurately rendered. An initial consultation and estimate are free, but drafts require a minimum of a 30% deposit, or $75 whichever is greater. Based on the complexity of your commission, you will be given an estimated timeline for completion, with the option of having a digital copy, prints, framing and matting done for you at an additional cost.
Please contact me for a complete list of prices for all sizes and mediums. Currently, I am working in graphite, charcoal and colored pencil. If you are unsure about which medium to choose, we can discuss this during your consultation.
